Often called the “Beverley Hills of Marbella” Sierra Blanca is an exclusive community in the heart of the Golden Mile
· 3 min. read
Established in the early 90s when the first few luxury mansions were built, Sierra Blanca’s 25-hectare community started firmly evolving into the “Beverley Hills of Marbella” by 1995, under Developer António Rodríguez. The timeless Andalusian character and Mediterranean elegance of its properties were prioritised in its architectural design as much as the panoramic views over the mountains and coastline.
Houses here were predominantly known for their regal aesthetics, with grandiose gardens and exceptional swimming pools, though nowadays Sierra Blanca offers a diverse portfolio of property types, from luxury apartments to modern villas, and townhouses to extravagant mansions.
Today, we are seeing newer builds blending modern architecture with contemporary nordic influences, and popularly, renovated interiors featuring Scandinavian design. Almost all of the houses have a minimum of three floors, benefit from their own private gardens and pools and enjoy both mountain and sea views.
Deservedly one of the Costa del Sol’s most sought-after locations, Sierra Blanca offers a private and secure community that benefits from quick access to the cosmopolitan areas like Puerto Banús and central Marbella. Residents get the best of both worlds: the peaceful tranquility of being surrounded by nature, whilst just minutes away from all the luxury amenities of the coast, including international schools and Marbella’s best golf courses.
Additionally, being on the edge of a protected natural area, Sierra Blanca offers residents beautiful hiking trails that lead to charming white villages such as Istán and Ojén. Some of these trails extend to waterfalls, natural pools and reservoirs, and even up to the peak of La Concha (the iconic mountain that gives Marbella its shell-shaped backdrop). Standing at 1,215m above sea level, La Concha forms part of the Sierra Blanca mountain range, which is responsible for giving Marbella its appealing microclimate.
The location of Sierra Blanca’s exclusive community situated between the mountains and sea, with direct access to nature and minutes from the coast, is as close to perfection as locations go.
Sierra Blanca is ideally positioned near the end of the AP-7, one of Spain’s key toll roads along the Mediterranean. This is a toll route that conveniently reaches Málaga AGP Airport in just under an hour, with no congestion. The A-7 motorway is a toll-free option, just beyond the Nagüeles tunnel, which also links to the Airport via the coast road, and leads to Gibraltar Airport in the opposite direction. The N-340 road can be accessed by driving through Nagüeles towards the beach, and takes you through Marbella’s centre heading east, or Puerto Banús going west.
