Christopher Clover
Managing Director, Board ChairmanChristopher Clover started working for the mother company of Panorama, Panorama International Ltd., in Washington, D.C in 1971 on his father’s request, after having spent two years teaching French in a private school in Bethesda, Maryland. In early 1973 Chris and his first wife Kirsten moved to Marbella to take over the Marbella office, which had been established three years earlier. When the mother company closed in 1975, they decided to stay as they loved living here and had an excellent foundations already in place for their future business.
Chris is an accredited Real Estate Consultant (Gestor Intermediario en Promociones de Edificaciones – G.I.P.E.), and a graduate with distinction in majors in Economics, Commerce and French of the University of Virginia, USA, which included spending his third year at the University of Lyons, France. He was an active member of Marbella’s Rotary Club for 15 years, and in August 2015 accepted a nomination to become an Eminent Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), a title that recognizes his expertise and contributions to the sector. That same year, he was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Award" for his career by REAS, and in 2020, Christopher was elected Honorary President of the association LPA, the Leading Property Agents in Spain.
In October 2024, SUR in English celebrated its 40th anniversary with a gala commemorating four decades of connecting communities. Christopher Clover was honoured at the event in recognition of his role as one of the most significant pioneers in the international community in southern Spain.
His family has a long history in real estate. His father Bill Clover was a broker for over 40 years in Charlottesville, Virginia; and his grandfather Burtt B. Clover opened his first estate agency in Chicago in 1904, and was one of the first golf course developers in the United States. Christopher’s children, Katinka and Alex, were incorporated with Panorama at the beginning of the century.
Chris is tri-lingual in English/Spanish/French and his professional experience stretches over more than 50 years in the sale and administration of Spanish property; and international real estate counseling including work in England, France, Japan, Morocco and the United States, where he obtained his first real estate license in 1968.
His hobbies are: traveling, swimming, reading, watching suspense films and meeting new people. In fact, it is the wonderful new friends from all over the world whom he meets through his business, coupled with Panorama’s ability to provide an extremely high level of service, which is what he loves most about his profession.
